Floor conveyors mainly used to transport objects from one place to another without any manual intervention. Different types of floor conveyors will be deployed as per various products, load requirements, accumulation/ buffer requirements etc.

Following are the main categories –

  • PRBs
  • FRBs
  • Accumulation Chain Conveyor
  • Powered Chain Conveyor
  • Accumulation Roller Conveyor
  • Powered Roller Conveyor
  • Curved conveyors (Powered / Idle)
  • Slat conveyor
  • Tow conveyor
  • Chain on Edge conveyor
  • Flat / Inclined Belt conveyor

1. PRB

...

PRB (Power Roller Bed) conveying system is key for all types of industrial transfers using different types of skids. Basic construction of PRB comprises as given below.

  • Metallic laser cut frame with fabricated leg
  • Plain roller on both ends for guiding the skids at suitable pitch as per the Skid
  • Roller will be driven by cascading V belt / Chain drive
  • Drive motor will be mainly with break which will be mounted on the frame of the PRB structure itself.

2. FRB

FRB (Friction roller Bed) is skid conveying system with combination of Idle roller sets and Friction pulleys to tow the skid forward.
Basic construction of FRB comprises as given below.

  • Metallic laser cut frame with fabricated leg
  • Idle roller set at both sides for guiding the skids at suitable pitch as per the Skid
  • Skid will be pull forward by Hard PU coated Friction pulleys.

3. Accumulation Chain Conveyor / Accumulation Roller Conveyor

...

Accumulation conveyors are designed to stop the objects on a running conveyor. These conveyors are mainly use in Assembly lines, where one product need to stop at particular assembly station. Also it could create a temporary buffer on conveyor itself. It will also be used to pick-up object from exact location from the conveyor.

4. Powered Chain Conveyor / Powered Roller Conveyor

Powered conveyors are mainly use to transfer material within particular zone. Powered Chain conveyors mainly use to convey material on various types of Pallets Powered Roller conveyors are used to transport material directly on the rollers with positive drives.

5. Curved conveyors (Powered / Idler/ Gravity)

...

As the name indicates Curve / Bend conveyor is used to convey material in particular degree depending on the plant layout requirement. Idle Curve conveyors are mainly Gravity type conveyors having required degree of inclination depending on the level variation. Product free fall can be controlled using Break rollers at particular intervals. Powered Curve conveyors could be used to transport material to various heights as per the plant layout requirement.

6. Slat conveyor

Slates are mounted at particular pitch on the conveyor chain with K2 attachment. The chain link decides the Slat pitch distance. Fixture arrangement can be designed on a Single Slat or combination of adjacent Slates as per the product geometry.

7. Tow conveyor

...

Tow conveyors are mainly use to toe a trolley on which any Assembly fixtures are mounted. So it can travel from station to station as per requirement. Tow conveyors and usually mounted into a small trench and only the Trolley toing Pegs are moving above the ground level. This allows easy man movement within the assembly area.

8. Chain on Edge conveyor

These are special type of conveyor system where the chain conveyor can’t travel in a straight line as per the plant requirement. This conveyor design will allow to travel the material as per the curved path on floor. A single strand Chain with attached fixtures will be used for Chain on Edge type of conveyors.

9. Flat / Inclined Belt conveyor

...

Belt conveyors are used to transport the material in a straight line or at inclined or declined slope. Different types of belts have to be used as per the product requirements. This type of belt widely used for Bulk material handling as well as individual product handling at much higher speeds than other conveyor types.
